With their last album “Ghosts” and the subsequent mini album “Abolitionist” you already saw it coming. The Black Metal influence has almost vanished and the Hardcore part still builds a strong foundation in the Ancst soundiverse. “Summits” now takes a well-deserved thirst quenching gulp of Melodic Death Metal, reminding me a lot of Heaven Shall Burn at times. A huge step forward for the band while keeping their unique style. Support Ancst and remember, kids: no blastbeats, no applause!
